Day 22: Because my father-in-law and I have a tradition

Well, tradition might be pushing it. Last year, my father-in-law and I discovered we were the only two members of the family who like egg nog. So on Christmas eve, we shared a quart. I am hoping we do it again this year so it will become tradition. Yeah.

So in honor of tradition (and the fact that I promised a festive recipe) I made egg nog cookies today. They closely resemble sugar cookies. I guess I was expecting something rich and delicious like my beloved nog, but instead I got sugar cookies with a hint of nutmeg.

Sidenote: I love that I have become some sort of cookie critic. Who picks up on hints of nutmeg in sugar cookies? The girl who has been baking for 22 days straight. That's who.

Anyway, they're ok, but not one of my faves. My favorite is reserved for tomorrow. I cannot wait. See you then.
