Day 15: Because I finally bought a cookie scoop!

I mean, it looks like an ice cream scoop. But, it's a cookie scoop. And I finally bought one.
It was on clearance at Michael's in the holiday baking section. I still can't wrap my head around why Christmas items are already on clearance. It only fuels my sadness around this holiday....we move all too quickly and often times in the wrong direction this time of the year... But I am getting all sappy and philosophical.

So. Here are today's cookies: Oatmeal Raisin. Classic. Traditional. Simple. Nothing fancy. Which is kind of how I feel today. Simple and not too fancy. There I go getting all sappy again.
I promised you all a Christmas story...so here goes. This one involves my sisters and it is rather embarrassing, but that's what they get for not reading my blog. Kidding! Kind of.
So my sisters, if you don't know, are amazingly talented singers. During the month of December, their high school choir used to travel the city singing carols and Christmas tunes to various groups. They all wore Santa hats because choir kids are known for being incredibly cheesy. I was one of them, so I can say that.

Their director was a pretty excitable guy, always moving, dancing, shaking, jumping, screaming and wildly waving his arms. At the end of one of the songs, he jumped up and when he landed, the little ball on the end of his Santa hat flew around and hit him in the eye. He was temporarily blinded and disoriented but played it off like he meant to do it.

My sisters immediately started laughing at him and couldn't stop laughing. One sister laughed so hard she peed her pants. (Told you this was embarrassing. ) There was no way she could escape off the side of the stage because the director immediately changed his mind on the order of the songs and instructed my sisters to come forward and sing their duet. My sister sported her wet dress and tights and somehow managed to belt out a stirring rendition of "Infant Holy, Infant Lowly."

I cannot hear that song and not think of this story. I have no clue if you all will find this as funny as I do, but I am a sucker for slapstick comedy, peed pants and my sisters' infectious laughs. If nothing else, just typing this story and remembering it has put me in a better mood. I may have just embarrassed them, but it is totally worth it.
