Day 18: Because I got a tea kettle for Christmas

Today we celebrated an early Christmas with my side of the family. Yay for opening gifts and for homemade breakfast casserole and for stockings and time with the fam!

My adorable sister gave me a tea kettle for Christmas this year and I have already put it to use. I got really excited when the water was ready and it really did whistle. It's the little things.

So in honor of my fantabulous gift, I made Chai Tea Butter cookies today. I improvised on this recipe a little bit by using actual chai tea rather than an instant mix and by adding cinnamon sugar to the tops of these little beauties.

The chai flavor is subtle, but good, and they are great for dunking in my tea.
Loving hubs has been under the weather and I am afraid I am catching whatever he has so I am going to keep this post brief and wrap things up.

On a cookie marathon note, I am running out of recipes. I had them all mapped out, but decided to throw that out the window because it was too conforming. So if you have any ideas or special requests for cookies you haven't seen on here yet, please send them my way! Thank you and good night.
