I have had these stained glass cookie cutters from Williams Sonoma in my cupboard for 2+ years and never attempted to use them. You have to fill the cut outs with crushed lifesaver candy and then when they bake, the candy melts and looks like stained glass. Sounds easy and pretty, right? They are supposed to look something like this:

Sadly, mine did not look like this. I present to you my failed attempt at stained glass cookies:
Ugh. I can't quit laughing as I sit here and type about them. And these three were the best ones! I even tried decorating some with royal icing to spruce them up a bit and those turned out even worse. I am saving those pics for my outtake edition of this little experiment.
The cookies above are supposed to be snowflakes. But I think they could double for poinsettias, which is why I chose to go ahead and post them for all the world to see. Luckily, they are tasty. I mean, they're just sugar cookies with melted candy in the center. But all in all, a fail for Day 2. Wha-waaaaa. I'll try again tomorrow. I think I'll go back to something chocolatey. Mmmmm.
