Day 11: Because I was due for another cookie fail

So I've returned from my travels a little worn out and little lacking in the holiday spirit. But. This blog must go on.

While on the plane, I found this recipe for Lace Cookies in Real Simple Magazine and decided they looked pretty and I should give them a try. At first glance, the recipe seemed easy enough.

I will give myself a B+ for completing something that does in fact look relatively similar to the picture. Here is what was in the magazine:And here is what yours truly produced:

Meh. I am not even sure if these qualify as cookies. They are like really thin pieces of butter with some sugar mixed in there. Pretty greasy too. I am going to say that Day 2's cookie is still the epitome of my failures, but this one is going to come in at a close second.

So with that, I am going to go back to catching up on my sleep and DVR'd television and hope that I can bake from the heart and with a little Christmas spirit tomorrow. Until then...
