There are a few things I miss about the East Coast. Some days, I miss being around people who are so blunt, thick-skinned, cold and almost non-emotional. I feel that these qualities can become contagious, which can be dangerous, but I also think these qualities do come in handy every now and then.
As I have mentioned before, I miss the dunkin donuts. I also miss bagels, real delis and Italian food. I miss wine served with every meal. I miss the quaint townships that are similar yet are all different. I miss the GORGEOUS autumns!
I miss the traffic. Just kidding. Tonight our driver got lost (not hard to do in New Jersey) and drove like a maniac trying to find the hotel. I felt like I was on a ride at Six Flags and nearly lost my dinner. It was quite the experience, but one could say, "only in New Jersey."
When I am up here, I do miss the energy and urgency and fast paced lifestyle. Don't get me wrong. I love my laid-back, Oklahoma lifestyle. I love leaving at 5 and coming home to my husband everyday. Sure there are days when I stay late or have to travel, but for the most part, life is pretty slow and consistent. And life up here definitely is not. I can say that, I lived in Connecticut for almost two years.
Luckily, I am traveling to New York next weekend, so I will get my East Coast fix for a while. And this is all the blogging I can do for today. We had a great dinner with lots of wine and while bound and determined not to break my blog chain, I am not sure how much more thought I can type for tonight. Hopefully I will have more tomorrow!!
