An now, for an interpretive dance

This is your warning- it is late on a Monday night and I am in one of those deliriously happy moods.

I am not really sure how many people who read my blog know me, but I am presuming all of you do. Some know me better than others, but most should know about my hidden talent- interpretive dancing. I use the term "talent" loosely. While I did take ballet, was a member of varsity pom and taught dance to the kiddies, my interpretive dancing falls into a different category. I have been told it is mildly entertaining in fact. I do enjoy acting out the words to songs just in case those around me didn't realize the true meaning behind what the singer was belting when he/she/they recorded it. I am thinking I should start collecting royalties or something. Seriously, most people would be lost without my guidance through movement. I don't like to limit myself to just songs, however. I can do an interpretive dance to describe events too. Such as my high school experience, companies going bankrupt, events getting rained out, my mood for the day, my loving husband's mood for the day and the list goes on.
Tonight, in my effort to see through a true abandonment from Monday Night Football, I performed a medley of routines I made up on the spot for my loving husband. Who, in case you were wondering, does not join me in my dances, rather he just looks at me and laughs. I have some oldies in my repertoire, but I also made up some new ones. I am thinking about working up a show and taking it on the road.

I have quite a few favorites in my show line up- including, butnotlimitedto, Come On Eileen, Blister in the Sun, Raspberry Beret, Somebody to Love, Gimme Some Lovin, Cecilia, Call Me Al and a little something I like to call "The Animal Dance."

I know, I know- if you have never witnessed my routines, you are thinking I have lost it. But I think deep down, you are secretly wishing I would be around the next time Paul Simon comes on so you could see my talents. Aaaannnd, for those of you who grew up with/lived with/ever came down the hall to the upstairs tv lounge in the wee hours at the ol pi beta/ beared witness to a front yard show of interpretive dances or just know me and my ridiculous talents, you are secretly hoping I debut some new stuff pretty soon. Stay tuned my friends, stay tuned.

And now that I have shared more than I probably should have shared, I will bid thee goodnight.

The next time I see you (which is in a few short days), I want to see a full performance--I don't care that we'll be at a wedding. This is hilarious! How did I not know about such an amazing talent?

You should work up an 'OSU Athletics losing money/Boone bailing us out' dance. It would be a hit!
