a) working like a madwoman at my job (my attempt at telling myself my job is secure. For now. For this week and maybe next.)
b) moving offices the same week I moved homes (who schedules these things?)
c) cleaning out the old home and trying to get that puppy rented so I can quit hyperventilating over paying two mortgages.
d) trying to unpack the new home although there are still 47 boxes in our garage with contents unknown to me, which really means I have no clue where to put things and don't have the energy to deal with it.
Many a moment I have thought of things to blog about but that is about as far as I've gone. I have even neglected reading all my beloved blogs that I follow and think this explains why I've been a little on edge lately. Ok, a little more on edge than normal. I have spent the last hour of this Monday evening reading and catching up on everyone's lives and now feel I am back in the know. And that's a good feeling. I am even contemplating doing that 25 random things about me chain thing that has been spreading like wildfire, but fear I am too late for this bandwagon and people would now hate me for tagging them.
In homestead news, we are finally starting to settle into things....yesterday we hung some pictures and last night we set out all the sentimental items that have followed me through every move since junior year of college. I am of course referring to one and only one item- a gift from my loving husband back when we were dating in college. Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you Melvin the Guardian Bathroom Turtle:

Melvin has resided in every bathroom I have lived in- including, but not limited to- 5 bathrooms in my sorority house, two bathrooms in Connecticut, two apartment bathrooms in Tulsa, one bathroom in a house on Troost Ave., and now, Melvin has set up shop in his first master bathroom.
Why a bathroom turtle you ask? Honestly, I don't know. It's random, I know....when I was presented with this adorable ceramic figure, I immediately fell in love with him and named him Melvin. Believe it or not, Melvin is kind of big. I searched for the perfect place for him in my tiny room but I couldn't find a spot for him that would do him justice. I resigned to put him in the bathroom and told him to keep watch over things and he always has. Always will.
Apparently Hank does not remember Melvin from the old home. He appears to be challenging him to a duel as we speak. Melvin is obviously not responding and thus aggravating Hank more and more. It is pretty comical. Things are finally starting to feel like home.
