Jeepers, Creepers

So....I know all 2 of my faithful blog readers have been staying up late at night wondering how the brisket turned out on Saturday. Well, we cooked the hunk of meat without setting off any smoke detectors and we fed it to the masses and I have not had any reports of food born illness, so that makes it a SUCCESS, folks!

Saturday was a lot of fun. There were lots of friends- some of them I knew, some of them I didn't know, but isn't that the beauty of cheering for the same team and welcoming one and all to our double decker tent in the name of Orange Power? I'd say so. A few highlights from the weekend...

1. I said a silent prayer all the way to Stillwater that the satellite dish would work. I really was not going to be able to handle my loving husband if it didn't work this week. And it WORKED. Glorious day! I kissed him I was so excited about it.

2. Since the tv worked, we had a few moochers. Which is fine, go ahead, mooch our tv. But this guy was the best. He pulled up a chair and sat behind the tailgate and watched tv, but never bothered to introduce himself or ask if he could join us, or offer to share his bag of chips he had in his lap. He sat in the street(yes the street) for about 2 hours before leaving. At first, he was a moocher, but after a while, I started calling him a creeper...

3. Speaking of creepers, as my friends began congregating in the parking lot, my blog came up in conversations and I learned that I have many a creeper on this blog. I did a back flip when I heard this. I started blogging because I felt guilty for reading other's blogs and not being able to throw my own offering into the blogosphere. But to hear people actually read this thing was elating. Seriously. So, here's a shout out to all you creepers!!!!!!

4. It didn't rain. After four hours of cooking the night before, waking up at 6 am on a Saturday (to the delicious smell of meat of course), driving and hour, taking two hours to set everything up, I was going to be so upset if we got rained on. But we didn't. Hooray.

5. Our team won! Which is always an added bonus when you put forth the time, money and effort to cheer on your educational institution's athletic program. Which is why I for one donate money to the school of Journalism as well...all those kids in the Miller Building never let me down!

As soon as I figure out how to get the pictures off my camera and on to this post, I will add a few pics of the tailgate. Technology has never been my friend. It's a good day when I figure out how to play a DVD.
