Just a post to capture my stream of random thoughts while I pretend to watch the USC v. Oregon State game with my loving husband...
1. Why is Arizona in the Pac-10? Does Pac not stand for Pacific? I am no geography major (is that even a major?!) but I am pretty sure Arizona does not border the Pacific Ocean. Or is Pac an abbreviation for "People Across the Continent?" because if you live in New york, Arizona is pretty much across the continent.
2. Why would you choose the beaver to be your mascot? Sure, beavers have vicious teeth and make dams, but let's be honest. The only time they are dangerous is if you are noodling. Or noodlin. Whatever. And you really only noodle if you live in some hick place like Oklahoma, not some beautiful green state like Oregon. Anyhow, I would say unless you were playing the Gnarly Noodlers, I don't think beavers would appear to be all that intimidating. Except when your in-state rivalry is a duck. Maybe I see where they were going with that.
3. Speaking of in-state rivalries, how could someone ever marry an opponent? I see all these mixed couples- one graduated from one school the other from the nemesis. It makes me wonder how they got through of marriage counseling without lying to themselves or to their potential spouse.
4. The Colosseum. Apparently this is where the USC Trojans call home. Now, I did take ancient history, but that was about seven years ago so it is possible I am missing the correlation here. Nonetheless, why the heck are your going to have a team from Troy playing in a Roman piece of Architecture? Huh.
That's about all I can handle for tonight. The Beavers are apparently gnawing the legs of the Trojan horse at half time. We'll see what's in store for the second half. That is actually a lie, I will go to bed and wake up in the morning to see who won. Another random thought before I sign off-- I used two words that have a silent "g" in them, in this post. That has to be a record or something.

I would have taken the beaver discussion a much, much different direction.
I'm with you 100% on #3.
I remember asking #4 in college during Game Day one time and all I got was blank stares. It's a solid question. Like if the South Carolina Gamecocks played at Tyson Foods Stadium.
