The stars at night are big and bright

Hello all. I'm back from my fishing adventure. And it was indeed an adventure. Overall, the event went well. As I read back through my sparsely published last few blog posts, I've resigned to the fact that I talk about my work entirely too much. In a way, work is my life. In some ways, this doesn't bother me at all. In other ways, I realize I might need a little balance in my world.

So....no full recap of my fishing event. I will only share that I managed to eat Buffalo Wild Wings 7 nights in a row and that feat has forever ruined buffalo wings for me. And this is a sad, sad thing.
The weekend after the fishing event, loving hubs and I returned to the state of Texas to visit some friends. We had a fabulous weekend catching up with Mr. and Mrs. Haynes as well as a quick visit with one Misplaced Kansan and her loving husband. We miss both couples so much and are currently fighting the peer pressure to throw caution to the wind and move south and join them in the Big D.

We went to the Cowboys game on Sunday and it was quite an experience as well. The new stadium really is something to be seen and NFL fans are...well....let's just say that I received 57 high-fives from the die hard fan who sat in front of us. And my loving husband got a hug from said fan. I asked if we needed to get his address to exchange Christmas cards.

Die hard fan was rocking some cargo jean shorts and an Emmitt Smith jersey. I don't want to know how many $9 beers he had ingested during the game. He was really, really proud of his Cowboys. But they lost. That didn't seem to matter to this guy.

Despite the entertainment we paid to watch (in the form of football) this guy was well worth the price of admission. His buddies were great too. At one point, his buddy hurled a napkin covered in nacho cheese at a Tennessee fan sitting five rows in front of him. Nacho cheese splattered everywhere on various people. I was ridiculously relived to be sitting behind this group of fellas instead of in front of them, which was nacho cheese firing range. Things could have gotten ugly if nacho cheese ended up in my hair. Real ugly.

All in all a great few weeks in the state of Texas. I am happy to be home though. (Deleting text about how I have no more events scheduled for the remainder of the year but there are new events on the horizon. Must. Find. Balance....)

Oh the hug. What a wonderful moment that really sealed the love/hate relationship we had for these crazy guys. Such a great weekend!
