Olé!

My loving husband and I just got back from a long weekend in Mexico. We went with some friends and had a wonderful time. Here's a brief recap....

The ocean was unlike anything I have ever seen. I guess I have never been to the Caribbean....the water was ridiculously blue.

We decided to get a couple's massage. I am not sure if my loving husband really wants me to tell this story, but eh, it's my blog. So we get into the robes they provide and I notice he decided to leave his swim shorts on. That's cool, it can be kind of uncomfortable to just strip down in front of some random person so I thought, no big deal. That should have been my first clue he was not really "into" this idea.

We enter the room and within the first fifteen minutes of the massage, I hear his masseuse say, "RELAX." Oh dear. That's not good, I thought. Another ten minute of pure bliss pass and I hear again, "RELAX." Oh boy. He's hating this. By the end of the hour, I had heard the words "RELAX" three separate times. When we got up from the tables, his eyes were wide. He whispered, "What's next?" Not a good finish.

I told him we get dressed and go sit in the steam room or hot tub since we had access to the spa's facilities for the day. He proceeded to tell me that when the lady grabbed his arm to start massaging it, he practically tried to get into a strong arm contest with her. Dear, sweet, loving husband, we need to find you a stress outlet.

After we met up with our friends at the pool, he admitted when they grabbed his legs and moved up to the thighs, his eyebrows went up and he nearly yelped, "You know my wife is in the room, right???" We could not stop laughing. And I have decided that massages are not his thing.

Later in the trip, we decided to try deep sea fishing and I am proud to announce I got over my fear of small boats on big oceans. Now, I will still not get in the ocean, but this was a big step for me.

Our friend caught a Wahoo, my husband caught a triggerfish and my friend and I caught lots of little groupers and a snapper.

We ate the Wahoo for dinner. How very "hunter-gatherer" of us.

Overall, it was a wonderful trip. I would really prefer being there right now instead of back in my hometown where it is a cool 33 degrees.
