It's that time of the year again...

I am heading to my oh so favorite state on Friday. Jealous? I thought you would be. I will be in The Garden State for 10 days. I have vivid memories of last year's trip....one crazy night at a Sushi Shack, which involved me singing to my coworkers(whoops)...a herniated disk in my back (ouch)...living in my rain pants because it was freezing and rainy....

Which brings me a point of interest. I sometimes think I am the luckiest girl in the world because my job requires me to own and regularly use a pair of rain pants. Think on that my friends. And again, I will ask you...jealous? I knew you would be.

Rain pants are almost a status thing in my industry. First and foremost, do you own a pair? Second, did you pay for that pair or did you snag them at some event? These puppies are not cheap, so this detail is very important in the awarding of cool points. Do you wear DryJoys or Zero Restriction? Being the extra cool kid that I am, I have a pair of both, thankyouverymuch. For those who have no clue what I am talking about...envision these bad boys on yours truly.

You pull then over, yes over, your regular clothes and suddenly you can sit on anything wet and not have to worry about what your ass looks like when you, you know, sit in something wet. Why, whhhyyy would you ever have to worry about that, you ask? Oh, how once upon a dream I envisioned myself planning weddings of the indoor variety. Somehow I wound up planning golf tournaments. Of the 7-day long always outdoor variety. Outdoors + 7 straight days = inevitable rain. But the show must go on my friends. And that requires me to continue working outdoors and to sit on a wet golf cart fairly regularly.

I must say, it will be a sad day when I have to retire these puppies. They have kept me dry at many an event and this next one will no doubt be the same.

And so, I am off to pack my bags and give myself a check after each item is placed in the suitcase (Friends reference, anyone?) and put the rain pants in the bag, first and foremost.

Did she really just blog about rain pants?!? Yes..... yes, I think I just did.
