Hello friends. I am sorry for my lack of posts. I figured it was time for a catch up session....
First things first, let's break down my trip to beautiful New Jersey. While not as exciting as last year's trip, it was still pretty good. The event was well, uneventful, which is exactly how they should be. I was nominated (ok, I nominated myself) as social chairman, so we took a shuttle bus into Manhattan one night, which was fun. I can confidently say before this trip, I had never sat on a picnic table on a sidewalk in the village taking tequila shots, but now that I have returned I can check that one off the old bucket list. We visited Hogs and Hefers, the original Coyote Ugly, and we lasted about 5 minutes before being escorted out as it was a cash only bar. Whoops. We made a triumphant return to the sushi shack of last year and once again closed the place down. All good times.
I am extremely grateful for the google maps widget on my blackberry as I somehow managed to drive through downtown Newark not once or twice, but three times my friends. And really, let's be honest, unless you are a born and bred, die hard boss-lovin' New Jersey native, there is really no reason to EVER drive through downtown Newark three times.
I saw plenty of my favorite sites...including what I like to refer to as the "East Coast Cowboy." Otherwise known as a Guido. My plan was to dedicate an entire post to this rare breed, and that might still be in the works, but I thought for now I would just dedicate a three sentence paragraph and a photo.
If you have never encountered these delights, well you are missing out. The hair style is known as a blow out, the language is something like Italian slang and the spray tan rainbow ranges from light brown to dark orange. And I am sure it goes without saying, the more chains around the neck, the better. We really don't have many of them around my part of the country so it is always a treat to be back in their domain.

Moving on. Last weekend was full of activity and no rest for the weary. My fabulous uncle was in town, along with my sister who lives in Lubbock, her roommate, my brother in law from Mass, his roommate and my aunt from Wichita. Toss in the parents and other sister who live in glorious t-town and you've got the makings of a family- filled Memorial Day weekend. No laking for me- but my loving husband did make a couple of runs. He apparently attempted to channel his inner lobster and mock the dermatological gods by not wearing sunscreen, for which he is still paying the price. I bought a giant bottle of the stuff and put it on his side of the bathroom and I am pleased to say I think he is picking up on my little hint.
This past weekend was full of wedding activities as my dear friend Rach got married. I think my favorite part of the weekend was climbing a fence and posing with some cardboard bison. Unless you were there I am sure this makes no sense to you. Unfortunately, the power cord on our laptop does not work anymore. So I am down to seven minutes before this puppy turns off, never to work again. I will have to finish this blog post from some other computer tomorrow. Sorry for the brevity.....more catching up to come.

Haha. Guidos. It takes a real talent to end every sentence with "SON!"
