my technological advancements

I finally figured out how to get the pictures off my camera and onto the computer!! Wha-hoo! Technology is a beautiful thing. Lisa learning to use said technology a few years behind the rest of the world...even better.

I must say I have struggled for a while with whether to post completely anonymously (names have been changed to protect the innocent) semi-anonymously (real names, no last names, no pictures) or non-anonymously (put my whole life on the screen for all to read and judge. )I am still debating this issue. I think I am going to stick with the semi-anonymously and post a few pictures here and there but not go hog wild. Here is a little outtake from our Christmas Card picture:

Yes, if you look closely, our pugs are festively dressed. No, they did not enjoy the photo shoot one bit. No, Lola does not really have Zombie eyes, they just appear that way in pictures. No, I do not know how to use photoshop to edit my pictures to make her not appear so freakish. One technology step at a time, people. Moving on.

Leading up to the big day we had a great string of Christmas Parties, but all were kept to a low roar so no need to go into great details on each of these other than to say it was probably the busiest season we have experienced thus far but we survived and had a great time.

My loving husband and I had a wonderful Christmas. We celebrated with different parts of our family for about 5 days straight. We both got some really nice things including- wait for it- a Wii. I have a small, tiny confession to make. I did not want this thing in our home. Again with the whole technology thing, but I have never seen a Wii and I just envisioned Mortal Combat-style graphics on our big screen tv with horrible music and sounds that would get stuck in my head for days and my loving husband with a giant grin on his face, completely oblivious to the fact that he was hijacking the tv during my precious Wednesday nights of Top Chef/Project Runway viewings as the Wii became a fifth member of our family. It was a bad vision and I did not want any part of it.

I must admit, I was sorely mistaken and oh, who are we kidding I have to brag about my mad talents: I am a Wii Bowling Master. I kicked all of my loving husband's entire family's asses game after game after game. I am a consistent, spot on, turkey-loving bowling fool and continue to hold the high score even though my loving husband and his brother practiced late into the night and next morning attempting to beat me. Gloorrioous, glorious Wii. My only hope is that this is not a sick joke and an attempt to lure me into the Wii World and then WHAM my vision depicted above will come true. I will keep everyone posted.

--------they've made a return!-------------

For those of you who did not heed my warning from the last post and jumped ahead to read your 2009 prediction, I do say I'm sorry. No one seemed to have a cheery one. I can only hope to prove the 2009 forecasting gods wrong.

--------one more!----------------------------

Can we talk about the fact that this is my 50th blog post?!? I have never kept an ongoing journal for more than a year, never finished a scrapbook, and always hated my creative writing classes or composition classes in general, so the fact I have kept this thing up for 50 posts comes as quite a surprise to me! I am learning of more and more lurking readers out there, which always makes me a little giddy inside.

Tune in next week when I attempt to make blog post 51, but for now, it's time to musk up because tomorrow we head to San Die-ah-go!

A wii?!?! Before my wii was stolen I was flat-out addicted. All of the old school games that you can download.... Plus the actual wii games like bowling and tennis are so fun. I'm pretty sure that I got tennis elbow from it. Not proud of that.
