A Post to the Pug

Lately, I have been feeling a little blue; however, I must say that when I come home from work and am greeted by this face, my day is instantly a little bit better!

I am dedicating this post to Lola, my fabulous Las Vegas Show-Pug, who never ceases to bring me happiness and joy. I will call this latest story- "When Pugs Fly"-

Lola, my spoiled little Princess Pug, just so happens to sleep in the same bed as I do. My loving husband was given no other choice when we entered the marriage- the dog sleeps in the same bed. Period. Some questions were asked, but this decision was final.

I know I have been avoiding the gym lately, but the other night my dog quickly reminded me that I best be getting back into some sort of diet/work out routine. Pretty Girl (my other name for her- you have to remind her she is pretty! I don't want her getting a complex! I mean, look at her!) was sleeping oh so soundly near the edge of the bed, as she always does. Normally, I can roll over and not disturb her. Apparently, I am not as small as I used to be because as I rolled over, I knocked the poor girl off the bed! As I realized what I had done, I looked down as she looked up at me with sad, astonished brown eyes as she attempted to scramble and flail her little puggy arms (as if she could fly), but instead she landed with a splat on the hardwood floor. I felt HORRIBLE. I leaped to her rescue and picked her up and told her I was so, so sorry. Thankfully, no broken bones or any other bodily injury.

Let's just say I picked up my gym renewal membership card this afternoon and will be working to get back to the point where I don't knock my dog off my bed any more. Sheesh.

In other pug news, I have decided I would like another pug. A black pug named Betty. Betty and Lola will be best of friends. I am now trying to convince my husband that this is a good idea. I tell him how happy Lola makes me and how much happier Lola and Betty would make me! We're still working on this idea, folks. I will keep every one updated.

The only thing better than a pug is a pug puppy!! If you guys decide to get one, I am inviting myself over to play with it. :)

Sidenote: I have knocked Thumbs off the bed numerous times so think how bad I feel--the beast weighs at least 80 pounds! It takes quite a hefty person to accomplish such a feat.

See you soon! :) Meredith
