Ricky + Lucy

So, let me first start off by saying that I would give ANYTHING for a friggin' cheeseburger right now. A greasy, delicious cheeseburger with fried onions, pickles and mustard. And some crinkle cut fries. Dripping in ketchup. I think I just drooled on my keyboard. Stupid healthy eating. Stupid competition with the loving hubs. Instead, I just finished a green fruit smoothie and I will be making a veggie stir fry for dinner. M..m..mm..mmm. (That was me trying to muster up an "mmmm").

This past weekend, we loaded up with the in-laws and headed north for a little family reunion/surprise anniversary party for my loving husband's aunt and uncle. We haven't seen his extended side of the family in quite some time, so it was nice to see them even if we did spend more time in the car than with the fam. Isn't that how it always works?

We decided to get a hotel room for the night rather than ruin the surprise party by calling and asking the relatives if we could stay with them for the weekend. We checked in before the shindig and went up to drop our bags off in the room. We opened the door to find two double beds.

We kind of chuckled, but were in a hurry to hit the bar for a quick drink before we headed to the party at the Baptist Church--wait, I did I just write that out loud? {nervous laughter, darting eyes} I meant to say, we were so anxious to get to the church to see everyone that we didn't bother asking if we could move rooms. Ahem.

When we returned home from the par-tay, we both climbed into our respective beds. I told him, "Goodnight, Ricky." He replied, "Goodnight, Lucy." And into slumberland we drifted. Let me tell you. It was the BEST. NIGHT. OF. SLEEP. EVER. We both agreed. We both joked we should get separate beds in our home. And I am fairly confident that neither of us was really joking.

A lot of people don't get us. And that's ok. We don't get a lot of people. On paper, our relationship is an epic fail. But this weekend was just another reminder of why we work :)

Haha! Your relationship is not an epic fail. It's one of my favorites, and posts like this confirm my opinion. :)

Where did the Beav sleep?

No, really, there is nothing like your own bed. Maybe they really knew what they were doing back then. Ahhh. :)
