Christmas Recap

After a very cold and very white Christmas, my loving husband and I have returned back to our suburban home and I, for one, am enjoying a very peaceful week. Loving hubs is traveling again for work and I am staring at the snow and ice on our steep driveway and making it a resolution to not venture out into the cold.

Our Christmas was a good one, complete with lots of family, food and for the first time in my life, sledding on Christmas day. We visited my loving husband's hometown for Christmas and were excited to try out my old childhood "sleds" on the hill in front of his parents' house. After my repeated attempts of solo sledding ending in me turning sideways and toppling over, my loving husband and I decided to try tandem sledding. Here we are riding along to a song in a wintry fairy land... (Side note: Are those the right words? I know a soprano would know the words but this alto only got to sing "jingle tingle and bum, buh-bum" one million times on this song. Sorry for my high school choir flashback. Moving on.)

Why yes, that is a body of water at the end of our sledding trail. Thankfully, no one ended up in there. Um, yes, it did occur to us that there was a body of water at the end but being the responsible adults that we are, we figured we would surely slow down before we splashed. Thankfully, we were correct.

The pugs stayed with my parents this year....my in-laws do not have a fenced yard and they also have six cats, which is a recipe for disaster if I were to bring the pugs into the mix. I came home to find my father had taught Hank a new trick.

A boy after his father's heart. The result of this new activity was this:

Only kidding....he just sometimes sleeps this way. Attractive, isn't he?

Lola, my little jealous girl, decided Hank was getting too much attention with his new trick so she climbed under the Christmas tree and pouted. She is very good at this. A girl after her mother's heart? Don't answer that.
All in all a very nice Christmas. Looking forward to the New Year!
